This August, four graduate students in the Arts faculty received the Vanier Graduate scholarships, providing each $50,000 to pursue their research passions within the Arts fields. As well as highlighting these students' hard work, we see the importance of Arts on a larger scale. Primarily its importance in Academia and its economic, social and research contributions nationally. These individuals display how the faculty of Arts can make a larger impact in multiple fields of study, for example the Vanier scholars fast from the field of Psychology to religious studies. Benjamin Crosby, Religious Studies 鈥淐hristians, Good Friends, and Brethren鈥�: Constructing Pan-Protestant Identity in the Elizabethan Church of England: His research explores John Jewel and Richard Hooker both of which are early thinkers of the reformed church of England.听听
Audrey Kern, Educational and Counselling Psychology, A descriptive study of families involved in intergenerational cycles of maltreatment and reported to child welfare: Her research looks at the maltreatment of children in public health. Utilizing families in Montreal with multigenerational experiences in Child services She aims to document the cycle of maltreatment and preventative measures.听听
Lily-Canelle, Anthropology, Coding Emotions: A Multi-Sited Ethnography of Women Programmers in Affective Computing: Her Research proposes a Phenomenological, Sensorial, and Feminist approach to computer vision artificial intelligence (AI) technologies听
