The Department of Bioengineering is pleased to welcome Professor Sara Mahshid as part of our academic team! Professor Mahshid joins us from University of Toronto where she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of Professor Shana Kelley. Prior to her time at U of T, Professor Mahshid also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at 91ÉçÇø – making her no stranger to our beautiful campus.
Thanks to her academic background in Materials Science and Engineering, as well as her industry experience as Materials Specialist, Professor Mahshid brings a unique interdisciplinary research background in which she combines her expertise in nanomaterials-based biosensing and nano/microfluidic lab-on-chip devices for applications inÌýhealthcare (diagnostics, genetics and medicine). More specifically, she uses engineering approaches to develop innovative bionano-medical devicesÌýfor point-of-care diagnostics and singleÌýcell analysis (for further details, visit her ).
