 system\, as well as some of the details of operating systems in general\, 
 and of Unix systems in particular\, i.e. the kernel\, shells\, daemons\, a
 nd advanced aspects of the filesystem and permissions system.\n\nAt the en
 d of the workshop\, you will be able to:\n\n> Create and edit a file on th
 e command line\;\n\n> Build and run code\;\n\n> Connect to a machine remot
 ely using ssh\;\n\n> Understand the components of a Unix system (i.e. the 
 kernel\, shells\, daemons)\;\n\n> Understand the permissions system.\n\nPr
 erequisites:\n\n· Knowledge of filesystems required (e.g. from Understandi
