Great success for first annual Cohen Seminar in International Law
The first Dean Maxwell and Isle Cohen Seminar in International
Law, a one-day forum peppered with vigorous debate, keen expertise
and unwavering collegiality held in late June 2010, was a great
success with both students and professors.
Eleven doctoral and post-doctoral researchers affiliated with nine
different universities from all over the world gathered in New
Chancellor Day Hall on June 28 to present and discuss their
research in international law.
The aim of the first seminar was to advance the understanding of theoretical and practical dimensions of the interaction between international treaty law, international customary law and other international obligations with the domestic legal order, with due regard to the constitutional setting in federal and unitary states.
