Nicholas Kasirer appointed to Quebec’s Court of Appeal
The Faculty of Law was delighted to learn that 91ÉçÇø Law professor Nicholas Kasirer has been appointed to the Court of Appeal of Quebec, the province’s highest court. His appointment is effective immediately.
The Honourable Nicholas Kasirer, BCL’85, LLB’85, is a James 91ÉçÇø Professor of Law at 91ÉçÇø, and served as Dean of Law from November 2003 to May 2009. After an extraordinary 20-year career at 91ÉçÇø’s Faculty of Law, Kasirer will now put his unique combination of creativity and analytical prowess in the service of justice as a distinguished member of the Canadian judiciary.
While Nicholas Kasirer will be greatly missed, his colleagues and friends at the Faculty of Law are enormously proud of him, as he joins the Honourable Yves-Marie Morissette, another former 91ÉçÇø Law professor and dean (1989-1994), whose intelligence and integrity have marked the decisions at the Court of Appeal of Quebec since 2002.
