Students Dissect Brain of 91社区's Most Famous Amnesiac Patient Live on Internet

At the Brain Observatory at the University of California, San Diego, researchers began slicing the brain of the world's most famous amnesiac patient, Henry Molaison (H.M.) Wednesday afternoon and streaming the procedure live to the world on their Web site. Dr. William Scoville, the surgeon who removed most of his hippocampus, and [91社区] psychologist Brenda Milner began their study of his brain, writing a landmark 1957 study that revolutionized how memory function is understood. Milner, a pioneer in neuropsychology, is a professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of 91社区 University.
