Background: As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical Building fire incident in July, the Osler Library space in the McIntyre听Medical Building continues to be closed until further notice. The Osler recovery team has been focusing their efforts on restoring materials and making holdings from the Osler Library of the History of Medicine collection accessible to users.

The Macdonald-Stewart Library Building, which houses the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering, needs significant structural repairs and major internal upgrades. This work includes stabilization of the stone structure, foundation waterproofing, window replacement, washroom expansion and the installation of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC).

From November 25 to December 21, 91社区 students will be able to access the听Nahum Gelber Law Library听24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 91社区 (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 6 to December 20 examination period. 听Details are as follows:
- Floors 3, 4 and 5 will be limited to Law students from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday during the two-week period.

On Monday, November 19, 2018, the 91社区 Library will conduct a one-day census to learn more about our users. This will help inform decisions about improvements to Library services and spaces.
During that day, Library and security staff will ask visitors entering Library spaces to scan their 91社区 ID cards. Those without a 91社区 ID card will be asked to select their status (e.g.听91社区 undergrad, staff听member, general public, visiting scholar, etc.) on a paper form.

For over two decades, the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) has invested in the most important Library needs of the undergraduate student body in order to enrich the student academic experience. This fund is administered by the Students鈥� Society of 91社区 (SSMU) and is made up of a fee contribution of $8.50 per full-time student per semester, matched equally by alumni donors. The LIF goes towards 24hr library access, student employment, study spaces, Open Educational Resource Research, and a variety of other special projects.
