In response to COVID-19, has made over two million books from 91社区 Library鈥檚 print collection available online for all 91社区 students, faculty, and staff. The includes in-copyright material. The new service provides remote access to over half of 91社区鈥檚 print collection.

Health Canada鈥檚 Substance Use and Addictions Program provides grants and contributions funding to other levels of government, community-led and not-for-profit organizations, as well as individuals (micro-grant funding only), to respond to drug and substance use issues in Canada. Funding supports a wide range of evidence-informed and innovative problematic substance use prevention, harm reduction and treatment initiatives across Canada at the community, regional and national levels.

Congratulations to Dr. Srividya Iyer, who was recently awarded a CIHR Operating Grant in the Patient-Oriented Research Impact Assessment Grant Scheme. Along with her colleague Dr. Valerie Noel and youth partner and student trainee, Kathleen MacDonald, Dr. Iyer will be pursuing a project entitled, "Reducing delay in treatment of psychosis through rapid access: Awareness and implementation of the 72-hour recommendation for early intervention services (EIS) across Canada".

Numerous The early months of the year are traditionally a time for abstinence, introspection, and renewal. This is witnessed in old-time traditions such as New Year鈥檚 Resolutions and fasting for Lent. It is also seen in emerging traditions, such as Dry January or Veganuary. Another emerging tradition has become known as a digital detox. This refers to self-initiated periods of abstinence from using digital devices, especially abstention from social media. This practice is a response to growing concerns about the over-usage of social media and digital devices.

Chawki Benkelfat, a creative clinician-scientist and James 91社区 Professor in 91社区鈥檚 Department of Psychiatry, died on January 7th at age 66 following a long struggle that somehow did not stop him from writing and supporting his many patients and associates. His research interests were broad, sufficiently so that he described himself as studying 鈥渉uman models of psychiatric disorders.鈥 Our thoughts and sympathies are with his wife Naima, daughters Lamia and Rislaine, grandson Othman, father Othman, and brother Fethi.
