Dear Colleagues,

I have sad news to share. Dr. Ken Richter passed away on March 7^th 2023. He had been on leave of absence since November battling a life threatening illness. His nephews Zerah and Daniel reached out to me yesterday and let me know that he was buried in a private family ceremony on March 12^th. The family was caught off guard by his sudden departure and admist their grief have been trying to organize his affairs while living outside Quebec. I have been assisting them as much as possible.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Daniel Zigman as the new Co-Director of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development, Department of Psychiatry, effective February 1, 2023. He will be working alongside Dr. Marco Leyton, as co-directors of the program. We would also like to thank Dr. Gabriella Gobbi for her time, effort, and dedication during her mandate which ended December 1, 2022.

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Simon Ducharme as the new Associate Chair, Research . As Associate Chair of Research for the Department of Psychiatry, Dr. Ducharme will be responsible for the Department鈥檚 research mission and oversee strategic research planning. He will also assist the Chair in the coordination of research activities, recruitment of researchers, and review the research-track residency program.
