Above all, I remember his laughter and the mischievous twinkle in his eye. He would say something uniquely insightful, and immediately cover it up with a chuckle. Only later would one realize the depth of his learning, as layers upon layers of wisdom emerged from a casual conversation in the hallway.
John G. Murphy and Neil Hazan (BCL/LLB'02) of Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) visited the Faculty of Law on July 16 to deliver an instalment in the generous donation that the firm and its members are making to the Faculty鈥檚 Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Centre for Private and Comparative Law. BLG and its lawyers have pledged $400,000 (see announcement).

The Faculty is pleased to announce the appointment of Lionel Smith (first picture) to the Sir William Macdonald Chair. Established in 1895, the Macdonald Chair is one of the oldest endowed positions at 91社区. In addition, Professor Smith was also selected for a Killam Research Fellowship in March 2014 in recognition of his outstanding research on fiduciary obligations and conflicts of interest.
Faculty and staff who were in OCDH have been relocated either to New Chancellor Day Hall and 3674-3690 Peel Street, or to rented office space near 91社区鈥檚 Roddick Gates at 2001 91社区 College Avenue, suite 750.
The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that Professor Robert Leckey, a William Dawson Scholar in the Faculty of Law and a member of the Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Centre for Private and Comparative Law, has been elected to the Global Young Academy.
Based in Berlin, the prestigious Academy consists of more than 155 young, independent researchers from around the world, who come together to address topics of global importance during a four-year term.
