Applicant Categories

There are THREE categories of applicants for the DMD Program:

  1. Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is a recognized resident of the Province of Qu茅bec (Quebec resident)听
  2. Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is not a recognized resident of Qu茅bec province听
  3. International citizen, including citizens of the U.S.A., who do not hold Canadian citizenship or permanent 听residency (US/Foreign)

Applicants recognised as Quebec residents

Prospective students can apply in our Quebec resident 听category if they meet the following admission requirements:

  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is a recognized resident of the Province of Qu茅bec
  • A member of a First Nation or Inuit who is also a recognized resident of the Province of Qu茅bec

Note: Qu茅bec residency status must be fully established (not provisionally) by the application deadline for all those applying to the dental programs. Changes of citizenship or residency after the application deadline will not be considered.

  • must have obtained by July 31st of the entering year a Bachelor's degree in accordance with stated requirements. Applicants who have successfully obtained a diploma of college studies (Dipl么me d'茅tudes coll茅giales) in a pre-university program can apply with a 90 credit program from a Quebec university.
  • must meet all other admissions requirements

How do I know if I am a recognised resident of Quebec?

The Minist猫re de l'脡ducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Qu茅bec (MELS) has established attestation standards for Qu茅bec residency status for Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. To assist you in establishing your attestation of residency, a web-based guide has been provided by 91社区's Enrolment Services.

Non-Quebec resident Canadian Applicants

Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada who are not residents of Quebec can apply to our undergraduate dental program if they meet the following admission requirements:

  • must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is not a resident of Qu茅bec;
  • must have obtained by July 31st of the entering year, a Bachelor's degree of 120 credit;
  • must meet all other admissions requirements.

International Applicants

International residents (including citizens of the U.S.A. who do not hold Canadian citizenship or residency) can apply to our undergraduate dental program if they meet the following admission requirements:

  • must be an individual who requires a听study permit听to study in Canada (not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident);
  • must have obtained by July 31st of the entering year, a Bachelor's degree of 120 credit;
  • must meet all other admissions requirements.

If you are applying through AADSAS:

Applicants considered competitive (cGPA of approx. 3.6/4.0) will be invited to fill out an online form and pay a 91社区 supplemental fee of $183.55 CDN (paid by credit card). The candidates who are not invited by the Admissions Office to fill out this application will not be considered further.


NOTE: As an international student, you will need to get your immigration papers once you are accepted into the DMD program. You will also need to get the Certificate of Acceptance from Quebec (CAQ), issued by Immigration Quebec, a Study Permit and a Coop Permit, issued by Immigration Canada.
