Welcome Message from Dean Emami

Dear Faculty, staff, and students,Dean Elham Emami

It is with much pleasure that I welcome you back to the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences for the 2022-2023 academic year. This year brings with it a return to full in-person learning and activities, allowing for all to reconnect and experience the vibrancy of the 91社区 campus.

I would like to thank our returning students, faculty, and staff for the continued dedication and commitment you have shown during the last two years. I am truly grateful for the way you have pivoted to respond to the many challenges you have encountered. To our new students, I wish to thank you for your optimism and openness at the start of your new academic chapter.

The Faculty鈥檚 mission of advancing transformative education, science-based intervention, and lifelong learning grounded in research and clinical training has never wavered during the pandemic and is more important than ever. We will continue our focus on advancing equity, diversity and inclusion to better serve everyone and to ensure that all feel safe, welcome, valued and heard.

Although we are returning to a more normal way of things, COVID-19 is still very much with us. It is essential to continue to practice public health measures such as wearing a mask when the situation requires it, practicing hand hygiene, and staying home if you have symptoms or test positive. If in doubt, please consult the COVID case management self-evaluation checklist. We encourage you to get vaccinated or get your booster shot if you have not already done so. The health of your fellow students, faculty and staff, and the patients we serve depends on us all!

I wish you much success for the term ahead, and a year that brings you health, fulfillment, and happiness!

Elham Emami,

Dean and Professor
