Biography: 

I am an Associate Professor of Medicine at 91社区 and Clinician Scientist at the Research Institute of 91社区 Health Centre in Montreal, Canada. I am providing clinical services in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. I have received a medical degree and specialized in internal medicine at the University of Padua, Italy. I had training in clinical and basic research at Harvard Medical School (US), University College of London (UK), University of Bordeaux (France), and Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (Montreal, Canada). My research work focuses on chronic liver diseases, liver diseases, and changes in diabetes, fatty liver, HIV and comorbidities, non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis by Fibroscan (a new ultrasound tool), and biomarkers. I am an author of 193 publications including 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals (11 as senior author, 36 as first or sole author), 122 conference papers and 11 book chapters, which have received 3510 citations (h index 30; Google Scholar, January 2020). I have built an international profile giving over 70 invited presentations in Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa.
