Oral PhD Defense for Joshua Mitchell
About the Research
Joshua Mitchell is a PhD candidate in the Department of Family Medicine at 91ÉçÇø. He holds an MSc in Family Medicine from 91ÉçÇø, and an Honours BSc in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. His doctoral work develops an innovative theory and accompanying methods for the assessment of multistakeholder research partnerships, i.e., organizational participatory research (OPR) partnerships. The results of Joshua’s work can be used to assess and improve OPR partnerships within primary health care, and thus improve primary health care practice. His work will be disseminated nationally and internationally to primary health care organizations using OPR.

Joshua's work was supported by Doctoral awards from the Fonds de recherche Québec – Santé and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Joshua is trained in mixed methods research, literature reviews, theory building and questionnaire development, validation and administration.
