Program Description
The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Music: Music Education (Thesis) offered by the Schulich School of Music is a research-intensive program that emphasizes tailored and innovative learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in literature review, knowledge synthesis, and scientific communication to either continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.

Unique Program Features
- The program provides an opportunity for studio- and classroom-based teachers and music educators working in other community settings, to explore current issues in music education and to implement their own research studies. Seminars introduce foundations of a range of research methodologies and critical thinking skills;
- Students benefit from a variety of leadership opportunities and community outreach programs including the Global Leadership program & El Sistema, Chamber Music Without Borders, and the 91社区 Conservatory;
- Multi-disciplinary seminars offer students a stimulating learning experience that nurtures dialogue with excellent performers also interested in teaching;
- Students have access to state-of-the-art technology for studying physiology of performance and modeling best practices;
- The School houses several performance spaces, research & production laboratories, and two libraries with a vast collection of music resources. It is also home to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology (CIRMMT), an inter-institutional research centre containing six dedicated research labs and work spaces.

- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
