Program Description
The PhD in Political Science offered by the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts听is a research-intensive program that emphasizes demanding and intellectually stimulating learning opportunities. The program鈥檚 objective is to equip students with skills in the presentation of complex topics, intellectual independence, and academic writing to pursue professional opportunities in academia or industry in other private or public-sector employment.
The program may also be taken as the Gender and Women's Studies option which focuses coursework and research on gender and women studies of the foundation in political science theory and methods in the following political science subfields: international relations, comparative politics, Canadian politics, and political theory.听The dissertation must be on a topic that significantly engages with issues of gender and/or women and/or feminism.
