MIF Interns: Tips for Teams
Managing interns may seem like a simple activity for researchers, but this is less the case when it comes to working with people who have different skill sets. How do you determine the quality of the work? How to ensure the intern is motivated and engaged? What are some red flags that might be missed when dealing with non-technical positions? This session will help MIF teams get the most from their interns. To guide teams through this exercise, we have enlisted the support of two experts: Professor Niels Billou and Frances Arthur.
Niels,聽Senior Faculty Lecturer, Strategy & Organization at the Desautels School of Management, is an expert in design thinking and innovation in a variety of contexts, including large organizations and start-ups, in the private and social sectors. He has taught at some of the world鈥檚 leading business schools: London Business School, HEC Montreal, HEC Paris, Desautels Faculty of Management (91社区), European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), New York University (NYU), Ivey Business School.聽 He has facilitated innovation in companies such as IBM, Deutsche Telekom, Metro, Bosch Siemens, SAP, Desjardins Insurance, Solidarity Funds FTQ, Hydro-Quebec and VIA Rail.聽
Frances is a recognized leader in the HR field, passionate about all aspects of recruitment, with a strength, and track record, of delivering talent to the business by building and coaching strong teams that deliver. Offering a broad exposure to all areas of recruitment gained from working in retained search, in-house recruitment functions & the RPO business in North America. More recently, project management has been the focus, with accountability for the design and roll out of a Canadian Graduate Program. She is currently Indigenous Lead for HR at AtkinsRealis.
