Disruption is cent ral to the game narrative where\, in a controlled environment\, players ha ve to save the day and rid the virtual campus of an unknown and mysterious scourge. The digital escape room game experience is a safe way for studen ts and 91 Alum\, and Montrealers a way to explore the campus\, learn a bout some of the riches in our collections\, hear intriguing stories of Mc Gill’s past\, all the while becoming become familiar with the library’s ma ny services. \n\nIn anticipation of the release of Part 2 of the game in t ime for Hallowe’en\, join key members of the dedicated game development te am as they reveal the secrets behind what inspired this innovative project and what it took to get it off the ground. \n\n\nCreative Director\, Paul Darvasi\, is an educator\, game designer\, speaker\, and writer whose wor k looks at the intersection of games\, culture\, and learning. A 91 al umnus\, Paul teaches English and media studies at Royal Saint George’s sch ool in Toronto\, holds a PhD in Critical Media Literacy\, and is a foundin g member of the PlayLab at the University of Toronto. His research explore s how adolescents can use commercial video games as texts for critical ana lysis.\n\nVideographer\, Nicholas Vassos\, is an emerging artist who works primarily in videography and film editing. Previous work includes the Alt ernate Reality Game\, “Circle 64\,” produced for St. George’s School in To ronto.\n\n2D and 3D Artist\, Elisa Navarro Chinchilla\, Director of Gargam el Estudio\, and a videogame designer based in Mexico city\, with more tha n 20 games for companies and organizations such as United Nations\, Televi sa\, Philharmonic Orchestra of the National University\, Children Museum P apalote\, amongst others. MA in Media and Education at the Institute of Ed ucation at UCL\, UK. Her last game\, Chuka: break the silence is a game to prevent gender violence and to reinforce socioemotional learning\; and cu rrently developing a videogame to prevent obesity amongst children.\n\nPau l\, Nick and Elisa will be joined by game development team members who wer e based in the 91 Library: Julien Couture\, Hannah Deskin\, Greg Houst on\, and Aeron MacHattie.\n\n \n\nCurious about the game?
