  Osler Medical Student Essay Awards\n\n\nCurrent and incoming medical stud
 ents at 91ÉçÇø are invited to explore the historical\, social\, ethical\, 
 and humanistic side of their field thanks to an essay contest established 
 by the Medical Students’ Osler Society and the Board of Curators of the Os
 ler Library of the History of Medicine and endowed through a generous gift
  by Pam and Rolando Del Maestro.\n\nThe essay contest gives current and ne
 wly enrolling 91ÉçÇø medical students the opportunity to explore any theme
  of interest to them in the history\, social studies\, sociology\, ethics\
 , and humanities of the health sciences. It also provides them with the ch
 ance to be mentored by an expert in their topic drawn from the Library’s B
 oard of Curators or elsewhere to complete their project\, and to use the r
 ich resources of the Osler Library and other libraries at 91ÉçÇø. Essays c
 an be submitted and presented in French or English.\n\nThree finalists wil
 l be chosen and will present their essays on Osler Day. Prizes will be giv
 en of $250 for third place\, $500 for second place\, and $1\,000 for the w
 inning essay. The top essays are typically published on the library websit
 e\, though we may agree to postpone this for winners who are preparing the

 oncours vise à leur donner l’occasion d’approfondir un thème de leur choix
  qui touche à l’histoire\, aux études sociales\, à la sociologie\, à l’éth
 ique et aux sciences humaines dans le contexte des sciences de la santé et
  à leur offrir la chance de profiter des conseils d’une ou d’un mentor exp
 ert de ce domaine pouvant notamment faire partie du Conseil des conservate
 urs pour mener à terme leur projet ainsi que des vastes ressources de la B
 ibliothèque Osler et des autres bibliothèques de 91ÉçÇø. Les dissertations
  peuvent être rédigées et présentées en français ou en anglais.\n\nTrois f
 inalistes seront sélectionnés et invités à présenter leur travail pendant 
 la journée Osler. La troisième et la seconde place remporteront un prix de
  250 $ et de 500 $ respectivement\, alors que la gagnante ou le gagnant se
  verra décerner le grand prix de 1 000 $. Les meilleures dissertations son
