DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences recogniz
 es the important role played by teaching assistants (TAs) in undergraduate
  education. As a result\, the Graduate Teaching Assistant Excellence Award
  was created to acknowledge TAs who excel in their activities. The award i
 s presented once a year to a TA who has demonstrated excellence in teachin
 g scholarship and service. Awardees will receive a monetary award and a ce
 rtificate from the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.\n\n
 Eligibility criteria\n\nNominated candidates must: \n\n\n	Be a TA (recogniz
 ed as eligible under the collective agreement) who is registered as a full
 -time student.\n	Only students registered in the Faculty of Agricultural an
 d Environmental Sciences will be considered.\n	Be hired as a TA for a cours
 e administered by the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
 \n	Not be the instructor of a course.\n	Be nominated by the course instructo
 r. \n\n\nAward evaluation criteria\n\nA nominated TA must\, as mentioned\,
  have demonstrated teaching scholarship and service in executing his/her d
 uties. This includes\, but is not limited to:\n\n\n	Outstanding effectivene
 ss as an educator\n	Excellent command of the subject\n	Exceptional competenc
 e and diligence in the preparation of teaching activities\n	Capacity to mot
 ivate students\n\n\nAdditional considerations: \n\n\n	Only activities assoc
 iated with the course in the year of nomination (September 1 2024 - May 31
 \, 2025) will be considered.\n	Past winners are eligible but preference wil
 l be to those who have never won this award. \n	The award will be given out
  at the Convocation luncheon and ideally the winner would be available to 
 receive it.\n\n\nOnline nomination form\n\nNominations are due by April 30
 \, 2025.\n
