Abdul Cadri, graduate student at the Department of Family Medicine, will be presenting his Oral PhD defense.
Topic: School-based interventions that leverage the social networks of young people to prevent harmful substance use among school-going youth in Ghana.

Abdul Cadri
Using a multi-method approach, Abdul's research establishes a framework to guide the design and adaptation of effective school-based substance use prevention programs in the Ghanaian context. His findings highlight the importance of integrating social network-based and gender-responsive strategies into these interventions and provide practical approaches for their implementation.
Abdul was co-supervised by Prof. Alayne Adams and Prof. Tibor Schuster, and his thesis committee included Prof. Tracie Barnett and Dr. Emmanuel Asampong.
