Meet the Lachine Hospital Physician Team听
Dr听Genevieve Chaput听听is an attending physician at the 91社区 Health Centre and currently serves as chief of supportive and palliative services at the Lachine Hospital site. In addition to a BA in Communications Human Relations, Genevieve completed an MA in Health Professions Education and a Fellowship in Palliative Medicine at 91社区. She is a past recipient of the Henry Shibata Cedars Cancer Foundation and Elaine T. & Charles H. Peters Award in Medical Oncology awards in support of cancer survivorship expertise acquisition and development of clinical, educational, and research initiatives in that field. She completed the Casley-Smith Complex Lymphatic Therapy intensive certification in the management of cancer-related lymphedema, and actively contributes to research and clinical activities of MUHC鈥檚 Lymphedema Program. Outside her dedicated roles as clinician, researcher, and teacher, Genevieve cherishes her family and friends, which fill her heart with immense pride and joy. |

Dr Adeline Khadoury was born in Montreal and completed her medical degree at Universit茅 de Montreal. She completed her family medicine residency at Mcgill and went on to do a 3rd year of added competency in Palliative Medicine. She has been practicing Palliative Medicine since 2011. She has been part of the Lachine Palliative Care team since 2016, which includes a palliative care ward, a consult service as well as an outpatient palliative care clinic. She also works at the St Raphael Palliative Care Home and Day Center. In addition to her clinical duties at both sites, she welcomes student and resident learners to participate in a Palliative Care rotation at both sites. Her interests in palliative medicine are primarily symptom control and building rapports with patients and families in order to provide a holistic approach to care. |

Dr听Hitesh Bhanabhai is a dedicated and compassionate palliative care physician with combined over 10 years of experience working a large university hospital, small hospice and remote territorial hospital. He is currently serving the community at Lachine Hospital. Hitesh completed his medical school at 91社区. He initially trained in radiation oncology at the University of Ottawa, but soon discovered his true calling in the domain of palliative care. This led him to switch from radiation oncology to a family medicine residency. Recognizing the importance of specialized knowledge in his chosen field, Hitesh further honed his skills by completing an additional year of training dedicated solely to palliative care at 91社区. His extensive training and hands-on experience make him a valuable asset to our team. In addition to his clinical work, Hitesh is also an esteemed educator. He holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at 91社区. Hitesh is an active participant in both undergraduate and postgraduate palliative care teaching. He particularly enjoys leading teaching sessions at various subspecialty rounds and resident teaching. His aim is to impart the principles of palliative care to specialist physicians, thereby enhancing the overall quality of patient care across various medical disciplines. Hitesh鈥檚 dedication to education not only enriches the learning experience of his students but also contributes significantly to the advancement of palliative care practices. Dr Rachel Fernandes is an attending physician at Lachine Hospital, with a varied clinical practice. She graduated from 91社区 with a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, before proceeding to complete a Master's of Science degree in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa. After working for the Public Health Agency of Canada, she returned to Montreal to pursue her medical degree and then her family medicine residency at 91社区. It was during her residency that she developed a passion for palliative care. In addition to working at the Lachine Hospital in palliative care, she also works as a family medicine doctor in Lachine, as well as in a long-term care center. She is proud to work with Lachine community and endeavours to train the next generation of physicians by contributing to the teaching of medical students and residents in the region. |

Dr Luc Daudelin has a wide range of experience as a general practitioner, and has worked for many years in the community served by the Lachine Hospital. His practice has spanned several departments at the hospital, including emergency, acute and extended care, and outpatient clinics. For over 15 years, he has been actively involved in the hospital's palliative care unit, where he is a committed and supportive member of the multidisciplinary team, bringing his professionalism, availability and attentiveness to patients at the end of life. |
