Nestled at the intersection of Pine Avenue and University Street, the Lyman Duff Medical Building has stood since 1923 as a testament to architectural excellence and academic heritage. Designed by Percy Erskine Nobbs, a distinguished professor at 91社区鈥檚 School of Architecture, and his partner George Taylor Hyde, this limestone edifice echoes the Scottish Medieval motifs of the former Royal Victoria Hospital, yet does so with a refined and functional elegance.
In the 1960s, the Lyman Duff Building was expanded with the addition of the New Wing to the northeast, a response to the burgeoning needs of the Department of Pathology, then known as the Pathological Institute. This thoughtful expansion ensured that the building could continue to support the evolving demands of medical education and research at 91社区.
