The tuition fees vary according to the residence and citizenship status of the student.
The Quebec Government requires all students who are citizens or permanent residents of Canada to provide proof of their status in order not to be charged the international rate. In addition, students who wish to qualify for the Qu茅bec rate聽must also provide proof of Qu茅bec residency along with proof of Canadian citizenship. A list of categories of Qu茅bec residents who qualify for the Qu茅bec rate and the聽details regarding the聽procedures necessary to qualify, are available on the Legal Documents site.听All required documents must be submitted within the timeframe indicated on the聽site.听
Students must report any changes to their status,聽and submit supporting documents to Enrolment Services. Requests must be submitted by the last day of classes of the same聽term聽that the change of status聽occurred. Documentation received after this time will affect fee rates for subsequent terms only. If proof of status is submitted after a student has been billed, but before the document submission deadline, the tuition supplement will be waived.
Students who are not automatically granted a fee deferral based on the University鈥檚 evaluation of their personal information at admission, who expect their fee residency status to change - and who will be providing that documentation - within the term must contact either Service Point at legaldocumentation [at] mcgill.ca or Student Accounts at student.accounts [at] mcgill.ca to discuss what documentation is still outstanding to support their situation. These offices will decide if a fee deferral is warranted. No prior interest charges or late payment fines will be reversed, therefore students should ensure their request is submitted prior to the first fee payment for the term is due.
The tuition and fees tables can be found under Tuition and fees tables and rates.
