脡tudes religieuses : Overview of the recent critical and ethical debates around Canadian sex education curricula and instruction. Special focus will be on: the social implications of the developmental category of 鈥榓dolescent鈥�, sexual citizenship, discourses as a tool of moral regulation and discipline, construction of gender, race and class in sex education, and the ways Canadian laws define issues of consent and abuse in relation to youth sexual activity. Students will have access to a wide variety of teaching and research resources (national, provincial and local) to support their professional development and capacities as effective sex educators for children and youth
