All 91社区 members 鈥 students, faculty and staff 鈥 are required to make emergency provisions before leaving on university-related travel, including, but not limited to:

3. Provide a detailed travel itinerary and updates to the Traveler鈥檚 supervisor
4. Registering with their Embassy. This allows consular officials to send travelers important information in case of an emergency abroad:
- Canadian citizens: with Global Affairs Canada
- American citizens: with the U.S. State Department
- French citizens: with France Diplomatie
- Other countries: check online
5. The Government of Canada Travel Advisories:
- If these travel warnings are in effect: 鈥渁void non-essential travel or avoid all travel鈥, the Traveler is required to consult with Human Resources to assess impact on the Traveler鈥檚 emergency medical insurance coverage as well as to consult with their Facutly/Department to assess if the trip is still allowed.
6. Download the Government of Canada Travel Smart web app for easy access to valuable information
7. Ensure that all travel documents including passport, visa and immunizations are up-to-date
8. Gather all of your health insurance information in case of a while away
- Record contact numbers and health insurance policy information
- Inform yourself about procedures to follow when seeking medical attention abroad
- Print or download your Manulife Healthcare Card - you can find your card on the . Sign in, navigate to "Quick Links" and choose "Benefits Card"
- Review your destination鈥檚 specific health and security information on the Government of Canada travel advisory site, as well as listings of the government's emergency services for citizens
9. Students traveling abroad on a University-approved activity must also attend
