Overview
This program will teach you the basic biology of large mammals and birds. You’ll study animal physiology and function, reproduction, nutrition, immunology, genetics,ÌýbiotechnologyÌýand its uses with animals.Ìý
Many courses in this program have a hands-on learning component. You will have teaching activities on the Macdonald Campus Farm, and the Small and Large Animal Research units.Ìý
If you're majoring in Life Sciences, you can complement your studies with a Specialization in Animal Biology.ÌýOther students can take the same courses as a Minor in Animal Biology.ÌýThis program will qualify you to apply toÌýmost veterinary colleges in North America, to study in a variety of postgraduate biology programs, and to work in many laboratory settings.Ìý

Upon graduation, you can pursue a variety of careers in areas like researchÌýand conservation.ÌýYou may also wish to pursue graduate studies or a secondary degree in a professional program likeÌýVeterinary Medicine.
