Martin Bonnard is an FRQSC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at 91社区. His doctoral thesis in communication (Universit茅 du Qu茅bec 脿 Montr茅al) deals with the actualization of the cinema experience by cinephile SVOD catalogs. His postdoctoral research, under the supervision of Professor Christine Ross, aims to situate the digital circulation of cinema in the broader history of automation by studying two key moments: the institutionalization of cinema and the advent of television. Interested in the aesthetic and technological aspects of the materiality of moving images, he also works on transmedia documentary storytelling (through the research group聽labdoc聽at UQAM) and has contributed to several research webdocumentaries.
