Virtual reality (VR) brings radical new possibilities to the empirical study of social cognition and interaction. In this Lunch and Learn event,聽Bavo聽Van Kerrebroeck (91社区) will explore the role of VR as a research tool, highlighting its capability to induce body illusions, manipulate visual perspective, and create a sense of 鈥渟ocial presence鈥: the illusory feeling of being, and socially interacting, inside a virtual environment. These features make VR a powerful tool for bridging ecological validity and experimental control in empirical music research.
