As of January 2020, the Library鈥檚 Research Commons in the Redpath Library Building has been officially renamed听Innovation Commons to better reflect the services offered.
The Innovation Commons is a technology-enhanced, collaborative space that brings together services and resources to support researchers.
It includes spaces, support, and equipment for integrating technology and research and offers services such as 3D printing and virtual reality.

On Monday, January 6, 2020, OverDrive will move to a more featuring visually cleaner access to subjects and 'collections'. No change will be required in the way you sign-in to your OverDrive account, or how you sign-out ebooks or audiobooks, and existing links in the catalogue or on guides will automatically redirect to the new interface. The Libby app will also become available to 91社区 users in parallel to the regular OverDrive app after this interface upgrade.

Space Update: The Osler Library of the History of Medicine space has been repaired and reconstructed. The third and fourth floor spaces surrounding the Osler Library and managed by the Faculty of Medicine are now being renovated. As a result, the Osler Library of the History of Medicine will be operational following the completion of this construction project. Library services in McIntyre are expected to resume in 2021.
Osler materials continue to be accessible and Osler staff are available to assist users.

As of November 26, 91社区 students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 91社区 (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 4 to 20听examination period. Details are as follows:
- Floors 3, 4 and 5 will be limited to Law students from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday during the two-week period.

The e-exams service, a repository of course exams deposited by 91社区 instructors in the Library from April 2008-December 2012, has now been relaunched. All e-exams content that was available prior to our catalogue migration is now available in WorldCat Discovery, and a targeted search box for only the e-exams content is now available on the 91社区 Library web site here.

Please note, an electrical shutdown (to accommodate control work on a power line) is scheduled for the McLennan-Redpath Complex in the early hours morning hours of Friday, November 8 from 6:00 to 6:30am.
The power throughout the Complex will be affected and emergency lighting will only be available in hallways and exit areas.
As such, for safety reasons, 91社区 security guards will escort Library users out of the McLennan-Redpath Complex for the duration of the shutdown.

The 91社区 Library is excited to announce the migration of 91社区鈥檚 open access institutional repository to a new software system.
Because of this, we will be suspending any new deposits to the repository starting November 8, 2019. New deposits will again be accepted in early winter 2020.

Sometime between September and November of this year, Apple is releasing their new operating system, Catalina. Unfortunately, this new operating system applications - this includes Endnote. Endnote is and is working on a major update so that Endnote X9 for Mac will continue to work. This update is not yet available.
