Philippe Gros has been appointed Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of 91社区鈥檚 DNA to RNA (D2R) Initiative, effective September 30, 2024. Prior to this role, he served as Deputy Vice-President (Research and Innovation) at 91社区. This appointment follows a thorough international search, with the selection committee enthusiastic about their recommendation. Notably, Gros was instrumental in writing the application for the D2R Initiative, laying the groundwork for its success.

G茅nome Qu茅bec, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing genomics research and innovation in Quebec, is investing up to $500,000 in 91社区鈥檚 D2R Initiative. This investment will advance the commercialization of innovative genomic technologies in Quebec through D2R鈥檚 Commercialization Priming funding program.
The founder effect, which is observed in certain regions of Quebec, can increase susceptibility to rare disease. This stems from the fact that these communities were founded by populations that were already related.
