Student Leaders
Emmanuelle Batisse is a PhD Candidate in Epidemiology at 91社区 with research interests in environmental determinants of health among vulnerable populations. She holds a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Environmental Health, both from University of Montreal, in Quebec Canada. Emmanuelle鈥檚 doctoral thesis focuses on understanding inequities in exposure to ultrafine particles and black carbon in urban Canada, and their health effects throughout the life course. She is also involved in teaching epidemiology to first-year medical students at 91社区 and she co-leads 91社区鈥檚 Environmental Epidemiology Student Group. A list of her publications can be found on .
Jordyn Gattie is a McCall MacBain scholar pursuing her MSc in Epidemiology. Her thesis is focused on evaluating the clean energy policy on health behaviours of adults in northern China. With a BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health, she is passionate about the intersection of climate, policy, health and mental health.
Talia Sternbach is a PhD candidate in Epidemiology with research interests in the environmental and social determinants of health, impact evaluation, and the development of evidence-based policies. Her doctoral work evaluates the environmental and health impacts of a clean heating transition program that was recently implemented in northern China. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Science and an MSc in Epidemiology, both from 91社区. Talia co-leads 91社区鈥檚 Environmental Epidemiology Student Research Group and enjoys facilitating interdisciplinary discussions around environmental health research and its implications for decision-making.
