All personnel files maintained in Human Resources are confidential.
After notifying HR (Shared Services), any employee or designated representative of that employee may examine all documents contained in the employee's file, in the presence of a university representative, during regular business hours and upon presentation of the employee's identification card. Only the personnel of the Shared Services office are permitted to add or remove a document from an employee's file.
An employee may request a copy of any document contained in their聽employee file. Any such copy shall be provided only by personnel of the Shared Services office and shall be at the expense of the employee.
To see documents contained in an employee file:
- Make an appointment聽by email reception.hr [at] mcgill.ca or by calling (514) 398-8000.
- Bring to the appointment聽your 91社区 ID card (or any other identification card with picture) to confirm聽your identity.
To get a copy of an employee file, you will be required to聽pay $5.00 for a CD copy.
