Visa Requirements
You must do your own research about visa requirement for your destination country and do so with sufficient time to allow for unforeseen delays in the visa acquisition process.
If you are unsure how to go about obtaining a visa for your destination country, consult the student who held that internship last year to find out how to proceed. Keep in mind that processes and processing times can change from year to year.

Health insurance
Interns are fully responsible to ensure they are sufficiently covered during their stay abroad. Prior to departure, interns must speak to their current health insurance provider(s) to determine the supplemental coverage required.
91社区 students have insurance through one of several plans available. However, some types of coverage are not sufficient for overseas travel and work assignment.
In brief (details below):
- Canadian students who are members of the SSMU plan are covered by their Travel Health Coverage;
- BUT! the SSMU Travel Health Coverage may not be sufficient coverage (see below);
- Canadian students who have opted out of the SSMU plan or who will be interning abroad for a period longer than 120 days must purchase supplemental emergency medical insurance and evacuation coverage;
- International students must purchase supplemental emergency medical insurance and evacuation coverage.
- More detailed information on insurance requirements is made available to selected participants in the winter.
