Elizabeth holds a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Arts and a Master's听in Library and Information Science from 91社区. Elizabeth served as Career Advisor at the Faculty of Medicine from 2009-2010 and was delighted to reassume the role on a full-time basis in 2011. As the Office expanded, Elizabeth has grown into her role, enthusiastically describing it to anyone who will listen as 鈥渢he best job I鈥檝e ever had!鈥 As Career Advisor, Elizabeth holds hundreds of confidential, individual student meetings per year with medical students of all years. These are tailored to the needs of the student, focusing on their questions of the moment, and providing timely advice. Whether it be a first-year student with less of an idea of career preferences, or a fourth-year student needing help with specifics of residency application or making a career choice, Elizabeth will listen attentively and empathically and work with the student to put together a concrete action plan, with specific tasks and follow-ups as needed. Elizabeth also facilitates and runs career panel sessions as well as presentations and workshops on various topics: resume writing, interviewing skills, personal values, elective choice, and residency application. In 2020, she was nominated for the Dean of Students Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising. Sophie Yolaine Fletcher joined the Office of Medical Learner Affairs鈥 Team of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at 91社区 in Outaouais to provide as a career advisor a range of services in both official languages. At the Office of Medical Learner Affairs, she aims to support the career paths of students in, Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME).听She plays an active role by听supporting various processes inside and outside the curriculum, discussing practices, establishing service corridors and developing everyday activities such as professional panels, workshops, and information sessions. Her integrative and positive approach helps mobilize people's potential and maximizes individual satisfaction with their place in society.
