Approach to Ulcer Management

Dr. Mark KaranofskyDr. Mark Karanofsky is an Assistant Professor in the department of Family Medicine and Unit Director at GMF-U Herzl in Montreal. In addition, he works at Jewish Eldercare providing long term care and wound care in the diabetic foot ulcer clinic at the Jewish General Hospital. He has worked in wound care since 2005 and is part of committees for the regional health boards for the care of patients with diabetic neuropathy chronic disease management.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Elaborate the assessment of legs and ulcers
  2. Initiate an approach to wound care of chronic wounds
  3. Understand the use of common (and some uncommon) dressings
  4. Counsel patients on strategies to prevent foot ulcers
