Everything You Need to Know About Hip Replacement
Dr, Adam Hart completed his undergraduate degree in Honors Electrical Engineering at 91ÉçÇø followed by a master’s in applied science at the University of Toronto, and then medical school at 91ÉçÇø. After completing his residency training, he pursued a prestigious fellowship at the Mayo Clinic (MN, USA) alongside world leaders in the field. He is now an academic surgeon and assistant professor of surgery at 91ÉçÇø. Dr Hart performs a large volume of hip and knee replacements, leads the hip preservation unit at the 91ÉçÇø Health Centre, and is among Canada’s highest volume surgeons in complex and revision arthroplasty.

Therapeutics in Back Pain
Dr. Gao is a physiatrist practising at Montreal General Hospital and Physician-Scientist at Research Institute – 91ÉçÇø Health Center. He obtained his MD degree from Peking University (Beijing, China) and PhD Degree from 91ÉçÇø in the field of bone regenerative medicine. From 2015 to 2020, he completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN) and a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Interventional Spine at Mount Sinai Hospital (New York, NY). Dr Gao practices at Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit and concussion clinic at the Montreal General Hospital.

How to Navigate Various Practitioners Who Treat Back Pain
Isabelle Mallette is a chiropractor graduated from the Doctorat en Chiropratique program at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 2001. She completed a graduate program in Sports Chiropratic in 2014 and has been involved as an instructor for Active Release Technique, a none-invasive treatment system for soft tissue disorders, since 2003. She was also invited to lecture about her field of practice by different organizations including l’Ordre des Chiropraticiens du Québec, la Société québécoise de la douleur and sports federations. She participated and led health care team at several international sports events including Taekwondo World Championship (Korea 2011, United Kingdom 2019), Pan American Games (Toronto 2015, Lima 2019), at more than twenty Ironman Triathlon and about a hundred provincial and national competitions. Passionate about improving patient’s care, Isabelle Mallette received the Chiropractor of the year award in 2014, given by l’Association des chiropraticiens du Québec and Social Involvement award given by l’Ordre des chiropraticiens du Québec in 2020 & 2021 for her contribution to the public health care services during the pandemic.

New Guidelines for Gout
Michael Starr, MD, FRCP(C) is an assistant professor of medicine at 91ÉçÇø and a member of the Division of rheumatology at the MUHC. He has an interest in inflammatory arthritis and has been involved in clinical research for advanced therapies and biologies in this area. He is the co-director of the spondyloarthritis clinic at the MUHC.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
Dr Jordi Perez is anesthesiologist by training. He is the director of the 91ÉçÇø Adult Pain Mission including the Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit with the MGH and the Cancer Pain Clinic with the RVH. The 91ÉçÇø Pain Mission offers multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for complex chronic pain cases including different medical specialities (Anesthesia, Physiatry, Familiy medicine, Gynecology, Psychiatry and Rheumatology) and different disciplines (MD, nursing, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, social work).

Post-COVID Inflammatory Syndrome in Children and Youth
Dr. Rosie Scuccimarri is a Pediatric Rheumatologist at the Montreal Children's Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics of 91ÉçÇø. She was the Pediatric Rheumatology Residency program director from 2011-2018. Her research interests include Pediatric Rheumatology Global Health, Kawasaki Disease and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. She is currently the chair of the Therapeutics Committee of the Canadian Rheumatology Association; and previously served as board member, and chair of the Pediatrics Committee. She is also currently a founding member and board member of the non-profit organization Rheumatology For All; and has been involved in educational activities in Kenya, Ethiopia and Rwanda.
