Guidelines and Milestones

MyProgress

All degree (academic and research) milestones are outlined in the MyProgress platform. You will receive automatic email notifications in advance of upcoming milestones, but we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the timeline early in your degree.聽

Students are responsible for uploading the requested signed documentation. Please reach out to the grad studies coordinator if you have any questions.

Research Progress Tracking in Pathology

Annual research progress tracking is a requirement of graduate studies in Pathology聽(MSc and PhD) to ensure student success in achieving academic and research milestones.聽In addition to monitoring student progress on a semi-regular basis, the purpose of Advisory Committee meetings is to provide constructive feedback and input on research projects, to ensure the student feels supported and mentored during their degree, and to minimize supervisor-supervisee misunderstandings.

Forming an Advisory Committee (AC)

With the help of your supervisor (and co-supervisor, if applicable), you are responsible for forming your Advisory Committee (AC), consisting of your primary thesis supervisor (and co-supervisor, if applicable) and two (maximum three) other professors who are familiar with the research field of your project.聽

ACs should be established within the first term (4 months) of your graduate studies. Once established, please email gradstudies.pathology [at] mcgill.ca the names of your committee members and complete the milestone in MyProgress.
