Application Information

Interested psychiatry residents are encouraged to contact the program director during their PGY-3 year in psychiatry, as the optimal timing for application to this program is early in the PGY-4 year. Please see the PGME Admissions website for detailed requirements and application deadlines.

The required documents include:

1.听听听听听 A personal statement (relevant background, motivation and career goals should be highlighted)听

2.听听听听听 An updated CV

3.听听听听听 Three reference letters, ideally from Geriatric Psychiatrists (need not be certified Geriatric Psychiatrists), to be sent directly by email from the referees to the PGME Office, pgadm.med [at] mcgill.ca

**Applicants who are currently residents in one of the four general psychiatry programs in the Province of Quebec will be contacted, following their interview to our Geriatric听subspecialty program, by the听Bureau du Coop茅ration Interuniversitaire (BCI), for a ranked list of their preferred program(s). The 91社区 Geriatric Psychiatry听program will also submit a preferred candidate rank order list to 91社区 PGME, who will forward this list to the听BCI.听The applicant鈥檚 admission to one of the four Geriatric Psychiatry听programs in Quebec will thus be a match, organized by the听BCI.
