Advising for Bachelor of Arts Degree

If you need 96 or fewer credits to complete your degree requirements, you must consult with a departmental academic adviser in your proposed department of study to obtain advice and approval of your course selection. To facilitate program planning, you must present your transcript(s) and letter of admission. For a detailed description of advising and registration procedures, you should refer to the website for newly admitted undergraduate students at www.mcgill.ca/newstudents, as well as refer to the Arts OASIS website at www.mcgill.ca/oasis, and to departmental websites.

If you need 97-120 credits to complete your degree requirements, you will normally be registered in a Freshman program until you complete your first year. You must consult with a faculty adviser in Arts OASIS to obtain advice and approval of your course selection. For a detailed description of advising and registration procedures as a Freshman student, you should refer to the eCalendar under University Regulations and Resources > Undergraduate > Registration and Undergraduate Advising; the newly admitted undergraduate students website; and the Arts OASIS website.

Academic advising for all returning students takes place in March for the upcoming academic year. For more information, please refer to the "Announcements" section on the Arts OASIS website.
