Measuring engagement in online learning
Instructors often rely on perceived engagement (e.g., “reading the room”) to adapt their teaching strategies, but what each instructor understands by engagement varies. When teaching online, it becomes important to be more precise about what is being assessed. This blog post discusses various engagement parameters and reviews examples of how they could be used to measure engagement.
