The 91ÉçÇø Library-Hume Society Research Travel Grant, funded through the generosity of David and Mary Norton and the Hume Society,Ìýis available annually to a graduate student, professor or independent researcher who is interested in pursuing a project related to David Hume and his era.Ìý The Rare Books and Special Collections Division of the 91ÉçÇø Library has an extensive collection of material by and about David Hume, including original letters.Ìý The Grant,Ìýwith a value of up to $5,000.00 (Cdn), is open on a competitive basis.

Candidates must provide:
- A description, 750 words maximum, of the intended project, and of the portion of it, if it is a large undertaking, which will be the focus of work done during the time spent at 91ÉçÇø.
- Indication of what library material will be consulted.
- A current curriculum vitæ giving details of completed and continuing research.
- The email addresses of two referees.Ìý
- The time when they would intend to take up the grant.
Ìý
The recipient of the Grant will be required to submit a written report on their time at 91ÉçÇø that will be published on the Grant's website, and potentially give a talk about their work.Ìý The recipient will also be expected to acknowledge theÌýawardÌýin future presentations of the work resulting from research undertaken at 91ÉçÇø.
