PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Through the 91社区 Retention Project, the Coasters Association aims to enhance access to Health and Social Services in the English language on the Lower North Shore by improving recruitment and retention of English-speaking health and social services professionals. This will be accomplished by achieving the following objectives:
- 听Establish and maintain an education network that will develop and implement a retention plan for the territory. Priority areas of this plan will consider:
- Supporting the CSSS in developing a training program at the CSSSBCN aimed at retaining the number of professionals serving the population;
- Exploring the possibility of expanding professional development training opportunities in the region modeled after the 鈥淔ormation continue en soutien 脿 la pratique infirmi猫re en r茅gion 茅loign茅e au Qu茅bec鈥 pilot training program, which is aimed at retaining health professionals;
- Supporting the development of a support system and intern integration system aimed at retaining the number of professionals servicing the population (e.g. buddy system, etc鈥);
- Supporting the development of a protocol for a bursary and incentive system;
- Develop and distribute marketing tools to 91社区 and other post secondary institutions that offer health and social services programs to promote the CSSSBCN and the benefits of living and working on the Lower North Shore.
- Support health institutions in establishing a sustainable internal structure

The established education network will implement a retention pilot project for the territory which will:
- Support the Commission scolaire du Littoral in facilitating and enriching the Guidance Oriented Approach to Learning (GOAL), the Personal Orientation Project (POP) and the Exploration of Vocational (EXPO) Programs in regard to health and social service professionals.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The overall objective of this project is to improve access to health and social services in the English language within the 颁么迟别-狈辞谤诲 region. NSCA will focus on building and strengthening beneficial partnerships and developing strategies that will lead towards improving recruitment and retention of health and social services professionals on the North Shore. This project aims to:
- Mobilize stakeholders on the issue of language access and build relationships with public health partners;
- Build partnerships with community partners, health professionals and educational partners to implement the project;
- Work in collaboration with ESC partners (Coasters Association) on regional retention plan activities;
- Develop and produce promotional tools and activities that focus on recruiting students that are in various college and university programs to encourage them to work in the 颁么迟别-狈辞谤诲 region;
- Develop a retention plan with community partners, health professionals and educational partners.
